Bayville Coastal Storm Damage Risk Reduction Feasibility Study

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), announces the availability of the Draft Feasibility Report for the Bayville, New York, North Shore of Long Island, Coastal Storm Risk Management Project (CSRMP). With the passage of the Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Appropriations Act of 2013 (P.L. 113-2), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been given the authority and funding to complete ongoing coastal storm damage risk reduction projects and studies in the Northeast. As part of the planning and implementation process for the authorized Bayville CSRMP, USACE has updated prior engineering and design efforts, physical surveys, and environmental compliance. Partners responsible for the development of the Feasibility Study included the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and the Village of Bayville.

Comments provided will become part of the public record for this Feasibility Study. Comments submitted will be fully considered during the preparation of the final FS. All written comments, including names and address, will be made part of the administrative record, available to the public under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The Administrative Record, or portions thereof, may also be posted on a Corps of Engineers’ Internet Web site. The acknowledgment of the receipt of comments or responses to individual letters and comments will not be provided but will be included and addressed in the final FS report.
