      <description>NEW YORK - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New York District is formally extending the comment period for the Draft Integrated General Reevaluation Report and Environmental Assessment (Draft Report), for the Sandy Hook to Barnegat Inlet, Sea Bright to Manasquan, New Jersey Coastal Storm Risk Management General Reevaluation Study. The comment period has been extended 30 days, now ending December 23, 2025. Public information meetings will be held on December 8, 2025. These sessions will be held virtually. Meeting times and call-in information will be posted to the project website at a later date. &lt;br/&gt;

      <description>NEW YORK - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, has awarded a contract for the Lake Montauk Harbor Navigation, N.Y. Improvement Project, which is located within the Town of East Hampton. When complete, the project will deepen the channel to 17 feet to ensure continued safe access for commercial, recreational, and Coast Guard vessels. The project addresses critical navigation needs, supports the maritime economy, and enhances public safety along the region’s coastline. The total value of the contract is $8,912,000 and it was awarded to H&amp;L Contracting.&lt;br/&gt;

      <description>NEW YORK — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New York District, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) announces the start of construction work for the Union Beach Coastal Storm Risk Reduction Project.
The first contract, which represents phase 1 of this coastal storm risk reduction project, was awarded to Weeks Marine, Cranford, N.J. in the amount of $50,035,435. The project will include construction of a beach berm with a planted dune, pedestrian, and vehicle crossovers, as well as two terminal groins. The project occupies approximately 1.8 square miles along the coast of Raritan Bay in the northern portion of Monmouth County, New Jersey.
