The applicant requests authorization for the permanent
discharge of fill material into approximately 0.52 acres of waters of the United States,
including wetlands, for the installation of a new sanitary sewer trunk main line and
associated maintenance road, to replace a 100-year-old wood stave sewer trunk main
line. The new line would generally parallel the path of the existing, failing sewer line.
The old sewer line would be abandoned in place. In addition, approximately 0.26 acres
of waters would be temporarily impacted for trenching and temporary access. Upon
completion of the work, all temporarily impacted areas would be returned to preconstruction
contours.
