The applicant is requesting a DA permit to dredge, with ten
years maintenance by hydraulic dredge, approximately 9,200 cubic yards (CY) of sand
from an approximately 92,000 square foot (SF) area consisting of an approximately
100-foot-wide by 920-foot-long channel to a depth of six feet below the plane of Mean
Low Water (MLW). The approximate slope of the channel would be 1 to 3. The dredged
material would be placed in a previously utilized and approved diked disposal areas
east of Browns River. The applicant plans to conduct three (3) additional dredging events within the ten-year
maintenance dredging period removing a maximum of approximately 9,200 CY per
event, from within the same dredging area with the same disposal areas.
