Raritan Bay and Sandy Hook, Union Beach

Colonel Thomas D. Asbery, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin executed the Project Partnership Agreement for the Raritan Bay and Sandy Hook Bay for Coastal Storm Risk Management, Union Beach, New Jersey on January 3rd 2018. Plans and specifications for Contract 1, the shoreline component, are in development.  Contract 1 consists of sand placement, terminal groins, dune crossovers and an outfall extension.  Acquisition of the required real estate for construction of Contract 1 is underway by NJDEP and the Borough of Union Beach.  Contract 1 is scheduled for award in summer 2020.
