Where the Green Brook meets the Raritan is a location with a long and fascinating history. From the Native American pathways to the site of a Revolutionary War battle, from the Industrial Revolution to 20th century suburbanization, this section of Bound Brook has witnessed many events and landscape changes through time. The US Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, has played a major role in changing this area’s landscape with the construction of the Green Brook Flood Damage Reduction Project. As partial mitigation for unavoidable effects of the project to historical and archaeological resources the Corps has produced a booklet entitled ‘Where the Green Brook meets the Raritan” that summarizes this history.
