The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection announces the execution of the Project Partnership Agreement for the Raritan Bay and Sandy Hook Bay for Coastal Storm Risk Management, Union Beach, New Jersey. The Project Partnership Agreement was executed by NJDEP Commissioner Bob Martin and Colonel Thomas D. Asbery on January 3rd 2018. Plans and specifications for Phase 1, the shoreline component, are in development. Acquisition of the required real estate for construction of Contract 1 is underway by NJDEP and the Borough of Union Beach. Phase 1 consists of sand placement, terminal groins, dune crossovers and outfall extension.
