U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Campus Modernization Plan

On April 11, 2025, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers entered into a long-term agreement for the revitalization and modernization of USMMA's campus.

The Campus Modernization Plan has a total of 41 projects that will include new and refurbished academics and barracks, athletic facilities, and upgraded waterfront infrastructure.

The goal of the Campus Modernization Plan is to provide a safe, secure, and sustainable campus environment; to develop adaptable and modern real property, to preserve historic character, and to enhance the USMMA institutional legacy.

Capital improvements will take place over a 16-year period.
