The Former Millville Bombing and Gunnery Range is located in the city of Millville, Cumberland County, New Jersey. During World War ll, the site was used by the Department of Defense for the training of fighter pilots that used small arms ammunition.
The US Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) will conduct further work at the site under the Defense Environmental Restoration Program for Formerly Used Defense Sites (DERP-FUDS), subject to availability of funds.
The Corps reviewed historical research and performed site visits that showed that there may be a potential hazard, due to the possibility that residual small arms ammunition is present at the site . Presently, there is no immediate concern, but additional investigations will be conducted.
