The applicant, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Bureau of Marine Resources, has requested Department of the Army authorization to create a new artificial reef at Sixteen Fathom for the purpose of increasing hard-bottom habitat for marine flora/fauna and improving productivity at the site with 10-years maintenance. The proposed work is located offshore of Suffolk County, in the Atlantic Ocean.
