The applicant, Second Neck Summers LLC, has requested Department of the Army authorization for the installation of a new fixed open grate L-shaped pier, with two (2) kayak racks, and a stepdown at the pier terminus. in Shinnecock Bay, Town of Southampton Suffolk County, New York.
The work would involve the following: Install a new 4-foot (ft) wide by 765 ft long fixed open grate L shaped pier, elevated 2.5 ft over the grade of vegetated wetlands, with two (2) 4 ft by 15 ft kayak racks, and a step-down at the pier terminus. The structure's terminus extends 100 ft waterward of the plane of the Mean High Water line. The purpose of this project is to provide recreational access to the waterway.
