Army Corps, NJDEP sign cost-sharing agreement to officially begin a reevaluation of comprehensive flood risk management solutions for the Passaic River Basin

NEW YORK – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection have both signed a cost-sharing agreement that officially begins the Passaic River Basin General Reevaluation Study, analyzing and comparing flood risk management alternatives for communities throughout the basin. The reevaluation is one of the 15 recommendations made by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s Passaic River Flood Advisory Commission.

Army Corps awards $868,000 contract for Lusk Reservoir Dam maintenance work at West Point

NEW YORK – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, has awarded an approximately $868,000 contract to Cutting Edge Group of Lake George, N.Y., for maintenance work on the Lusk Reservoir Dam at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The work is being done to ensure the continued long-term integrity of the more than 100-year-old dam, which holds back 78-million gallons of water when water is flowing over the spillway.

Army Corps awards $28 million contract for construction of new dormitory at Thule Air Base in Greenland

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, has awarded an approximately 156 million Danish Kroner contract (approximately $28 million) contract to contractor MT Højgaard Gronland A/S of Søborg, Denmark, for the construction of a new Air Force dormitory at Thule Air Base in Greenland.
